Xfire Requirement

Just a reminder to all members that as a requirement for the clan you need to have Xfire installed

and an account made,It isnt a big download and is a very good comunication device that allows you to

record movies and take screen shots in game very easily and doesn't lagg most computers (depending on your

spec of course) as a clan we dont ask much but it is very much appreciated if we all run it when gaming etc.

Then go to http://www.xfire.com/communities/majc/ and click the join button

once done that restart xfire and then you can see all the other members and add them to friends.

EA is still struggling to meet the demand for online player slots for Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

In spite of repeated upgrades to the hardware and software of the BC2 servers, online problems have persisted in the week since the game was launched. Things have gotten so bad, that EA even asked one of its game service providers to shut down its idle BC2 servers, in a desperate bid to conserve precious bandwidth.

"We did not make this decision lightly but as an attempt to temporarily lower traffic on EA servers that is caused by the game server browser while we work on a client fix for the browser here at DICE. After previously shutting down all EA Public servers which accounted for approximately 40,000 player slots we have actually gained approximately 50,000 more player slots from new rental servers"

"We currently have enough server capacity to allow over 150,000 players to get in a game server at once and that is just on PC"

More details at the official Battlefield blog. To help put things perspective, EA has also released some stats that hint at just how many people are playing the edgy new FPS from DICE.

Since launch a week ago, BFBC2 has already put EA servers through the following stress:

* The 4 different soldier types have gathered a score of more than 34 Billion.
* There's been more than 400M kills made.
* 1.3M roadkills
* Squads and Teams have assisted each other to 6.2 Billion points.

Hey guys as you may already know that you may be sent mesages from "friends"

on steam asking you to look at their web page or steam community page which will have a link

this is in many forms it will more than likely ask you to put in your details but DO NOT ENTER YOUR USERNAME OR PASSWORD

this has gone around before it is a hijacking system that is automated it usually tells you can get a free game

or one other thing or other steam will not ask for your details especially to look at a web page of some description

most will have a hosted web site that looks exactly like steams but you will see the sponsor down the bottom in most cases

For those of you who don't already know, Electro is a graphic designer + photographer. Yes its true, hes not just an annoying RPG freak on the battlefeild.. He has a hobbie and hes good at it !

18+ petition for video games in australia

EB games australia has put up a petition to put forward to the government for a 18+ rating in australia

This isnt for more violence in our video games but more to keep up with the rest of the civilised world

We (australia) and germany are one of the only two developed countries in the world that doesnt have a

18+ rating it makes sense that seeing as the average video gamer is in their 20's these days that we keep up.

Australian adults should be able to decide for themselves whats right for them.

Wow, Just learnt that Id, the devs behind favourites like Wolfenstein , Quake, Heretic, Hexen + our beloved DOOM, just got bought out by a company called Zenimax.

Head CEO of the then Id quotes “It’s actually worked out really well. They value development for its own sake, rather than just trying to put something in a box and relying on marketing for sales. They believe in the quality of the product you put in and the value of the entertainment the consumer gets out as what ultimately drives the business. The game is said to be a massive mix of Fallout 3 + Road Warrior + Boarderlands. WOW

I'm sure you're all read stories of Steam users getting their accounts "hacked". Generally through fishing sites or telling people your password.

However it seems that Steam users with old accounts, even if you regularly log on to steam and have the most up-to-date version, may be more vulnerable to having their accounts stolen.

How to check if you're affected:

• Run Steam.
• Goto "Settings"
• Look at "Contact Email:"
• If your email address is followed by (unverified) you are affected.

How to fix the issue:

• Verify your email address with Steam.

I just checked my account and I was vulnerable to the same issue. I log on to Steam at least every few days and have an up-to-date version of Steam. I had no idea that Steam made basic account security opt-in, rather than just put it into one of their regular software updates.

Majestica will be holding team formations on Friday the 8th of January 2009 for Modern Warfare 2. There will be a total of 4 teams of 6 players including 1 from another team as a reserve. Team Captains & 2ic's will also be assigned as well as team names that its members will agree on. Members will lose a chance at their positions & roles; therefore non-Attending members will have to wait for the next formation date to be assigned into a team. Hope all can be there. Cheers
